Hey everybody!! I was just thinking that a little recognition was in order here. You've seen the guy in the leaf on our logo. You've seen our posters and our flyers. Things like that don't just happen by themselves. We've got some pretty cool people at the Highland Group out there doing all that great work. They're on their third year as a sponsor of our marathon, and we've heard nothing but positive feedback on their work. Check them out at gohighlandgroup.com when you get a minute.

And while you're at it, if your company is looking for an opportunity to sponsor a really cool event, (or even just a Marathon Minute spot) I know where they might find one. :-) Feel free to have your advertising people call me.

OK, the next thing. This Sunday I'm headed up to Carrollton, Michigan for a neat little marathon. The Carrollton Charity Races raise money for some their local charities, and offer a fun time running most any distance you might choose to run, from 5K to 50K. The multiple out-and-back route is different than you might be used to, but it's fun getting to know practically everyone on the course during the morning. So, if you're not doing anything Sunday, come on out.

I just ordered a bunch of running caps with the Metro Health Grand Rapids Marathon logo on them. We'll have them for sale at the expo. Pretty nice microfiber, mesh panels, and a reflector sandwiched in the bill. We should have them in about 4 weeks, maybe we'll sell them online too.
